For our in-depth work on specific issues recurrent in factories, we bring together specialists based on need. We collaborate with in-country civil society organizations and experts. 

 

Naurin Muzaffar, Founder & Director

A law graduate with more than 17 years of experience in the area of corporate social responsibility, labor issues and social risk working with private sector as well as international development agencies and NGOs. Worked with Gap Inc. for almost a decade, and now engage with variety of retailers and brands in the garment, textile and sportswear industries. Have worked for International Finance Corporation (IFC/World Bank Group), served as an advisor to Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety. 

Worked extensively with Better Work (BW) Program, a joint project of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and International Labour Organization (ILO) in its early days in Cambodia and later when the program set up its HQ in Geneva and started to expand. 

Have strong technical knowledge on labor issues in supply chain and key strengths include the ability to put together programs as well as approaches to address specific issues at workplace while working with multiple stakeholders.

Extensive experience of working with labor rights groups on labor issues in supply chain in Asia, countries including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Pakistan. 

Dr. Ayaz Tanoli

With a Ph.D. from the Suleman Dawood School of Business, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore, Pakistan and a Masters in Industrial Management, Ayaz has been working in the textile and garment industry of Pakistan since 2001.

Worked in various projects involving productivity, renewable energy & energy efficiency, youth employment, gender mainstreaming in labour market and promotion/advocacy of female employment.

With strong background on research has co-authored various research papers and publications related to garment industry of Pakistan. Ayaz also covers India in addition to work in Pakistan.

Hassan Chattha

With a bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, worked in the textile and garments industry of Pakistan since 1997.

Started as a quality auditor working for Warnaco and handled brands like Chaps Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein and later Perry Ellis, Roca Wear, State Property, Duck Head, Jnco, Collins. Provided in-country support to UL Responsible Sourcing (formerly CSCC) in social compliance assessments for suppliers in Pakistan.

Hassan handles C-TPAT assessments as well. He undertakes work in Bangladesh and Pakistan. 

Ajay Datt

Based in India with experience of over 20 years across 22 countries from Cotton fields to Brands (Cotton Fields, Mills, Factory, Buying House, Brand). Active involvement in the Apparel & Leather Industry, Agriculture Industry, Automobile Industry and Packaging Industry, including but not limited to CSR activities, social, quality and security management systems, brand protection compliance, human resource management systems, trainings and marketing.

Technically astute and skilled in implementing and deploying quality management systems, conducting internal and external gap analysis, verification & assessments, conducting training programs in soft skills, health & safety systems, brand protection compliance, vendor EDI compliance and human resources management systems. Have been associated with a variety of organizations (ILO, FLA, BSR, BSCI); US & Europeans Brands.

Have exposure of work in 22 countries (Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Lesotho, Mauritius, Madagascar, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain & Kuwait). Ajay covers Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in addition to India.
